Hahaha that guy was drunk and asleep so we took pictures with him!
So here goes a few things about what happened this past week. I'll start with friday, since there isn't much to say about the other days yet! When we were teaching a lesson about the book of mormon and going to assign a page for them to read, a fly lands on the page.... and just as anyone else would Elder Cryer flicks the fly so it wouldn't be on the page... and it gets stuck in between the pages. Why it would be different I don't know. So he flips the page back over and the fly flies off, and it pooped on the page. Way to go satan, poop on scripture... not :/

So our taksibe ride to church, bear with me as you may not understand since you have never been in madagascar.
So, we took a taksibe to Analakely to go to conference with our ward yesterday, and the guy asks for the money before the first stop, a little strange, usually they collect it every 3 stops. Whatever I give it to him. We stop at the next stop and out of no where he runs over to the next door on the other side and starts pulling something out, talks to the driver and runs off with some cash... and a bottle. The taksibe was out of gas. Nice way to make us really late. So then after that the driver gets out and starts calling out where the taksibe is going as he waits for the caller to come back and fill up the taksibe with enough gas to get to the station. How nice isn't it?

Also, During Ballard's talk (we only had one session in malagasy, 4 in english at the office with all the other missionaries) he mentioned an Elder Nash who served in South America, so everyone in the room stared at me, and I just cheered like it was something awesome I did. pretty random yet cool at the same time!

OH, so I have some stories about english class, since I teach it  once a week, people were asking me how to say certain things in english, like how do you say it when some one gets menatra (bashful) on stage and can't sing anymore, it took me 20 minutes to say it was embarrassing they thought I didn't know my own language at all... ridiculous. I am not that stupid, I know simple words like that, and they said it was something different.

OH I did get the candy, just wait till you watch the video, I believe I tell you about everything, but I was so happy when I got my package I was ready to cry, American candy is so freaking good! I love it so much!

Well that's about it for now, thank you so much for sending me the package! I am eating it so slowly cause I want it to last, but I'm sure it will be gone soon... give it 3 more days.

Talk to you soon!

Guess what! I got sick this last week! It really sucked, I think I had a respitory infection because I couldn't breathe well at all, it still kinda hurts to breathe, but I'm getting better.
So yeah, other than that we didn't do much, really it was a boring week, spending 3 days inside instead of working because it hurt too bad to walk around and breathe well.
OH something cool! I met some people from a professional french soccer team! how cool huh? I also found a store that sells electric guitars and stuff so I got to play one! How awesome is that? Some other things that I found is since I've been here I've been remembering a lot more french which is cool, I may go out to La Reunion or Maricious just depending on what happens! doesn't that sound awesome? I heard most of the work over there is tracting, how fun...
Well nothing much else to say, I'm still in Ankorondrano for another month, but the transfers next month are going to be crazy, we are losing 10 people.

Adam can not afford to write everyone back so he sends one huge letter home. Because they are out all day a lot of his money goes to eating out. He asks that everyone please keep writing and I can either let you read his letters or I do post most of the letters on the blog....Here are answers to questions he has been asked:

I have a bed, and after a minimum of 6 miles of walking everyday it's comfortable.
My Apartment is bigger than Jessica's house, it's ridiculous. We don't need tons of space, and I'm in the smallest house in the Mission. I share my house with  my companion and 2 others. I think our apartment is 1400 sq. ft. Other houses have 3 stories and are bigger than our house. My room is bigger than the Malagasies houses. It's hard to live like this when some live in the size of 6x6 ft. and no electricity.
     I love being in Madagascar!
I eat so much rice, literally a pound or more of prepared rice, then we have loaka on top, which is just some sauce.
Now on to the stories..
The rain here is intensly hard and it floods fast...it just efa tonga dia orana (runs out of nowhere.) It's cool though. Out of nowhere you can't hear the person next to you. Fun! It always happens in the middle of lessons or right before the end. One night I was going to go out and it started pouring. Worse than anyting in California. You have no idea. The streets filled up with water and itw was like roads turned to rivers. We were soaked after going out. More that being in a swimming pool! My shoes were filled with water too! I was soooo soaked! It was crazy.
During the closing prayer of a lesson a girl called us Vazaha tsara indrindra, or best white people ever!
The cool thing is when I read the scriptures I understand so much more. You should see how marked up they are some don't have white. Crazy huh? I love reading them now that I do all this. I love it so much more.
I can tell you days here are tough. We walk a minimum of 6 miles each day. Some days we struggle to stay awake during the lessons. Sleeping is easy when you are so tired. Some days I fall asleep as soon as I get home right after writing in my journal! The good thing is I can stay focused with the Spirit. I always see if we can find anyone to teach, less actives or ask members for refferals. We're always working..that's all we do, and it makes the days pass by really fast. The only way to have time fly by is to think of others more than yourself. The only slow days are when I decide to think about my comfort instead. It's really awesome. I just love being here!
I was at a house for a soiree and we were given crepes. They weren't any old crepes but, there were  bugs crawling inside. I slowly swallowed each one and felt them slowly slide down my throat. SO GROSS!

Strange happenings in Madagascar!

Two days ago we saw a naked crazy woman! She was like 1,000,000 years old... as we saw from obvious visable reasons. It was very very odd. We called her a pamasavy because she acted like one but here is the full story:

We were walking to the baptism in Analakely and out of no where there is this naked old person in the street and Elder Cryer just says Woah! We take a look and we decide, no we shouldn't go that way, turn around, then we decide again we could just run by or something. Upon turning back around she picks up rocks and starts throwing them at cars, people, you name it and rocks were being thrown, then she stares us down and starts coming towards us. We dash off into a nearby market and make our way around where we see a crowd of Malagasies cowering in fear. Because of that we look over and we see her start strangling and punching a random girl who was walking by right in the face! The girl ran off and the angry old woman started throwing rocks at a ground cover. After this some guy takes a stick off a tree which is abour at long as four hand lengths and starts poking her in the head.... WHAT THE HECK? This is Definately Madagascar!
Not anything spiritual but, part of his experience so I thought I would share.

Lemur Park

I WENT TO A FREAKING LEMUR PARK! I loved it! I was bit twice but it was so fun! I was bit by lemurs!!! and I got to feed them, they ate out of my hand, and I got videos of this too!
Well other than this we are having a hard time since we had a lot of dropped investigators!
Adam had quite the exciting week! Getting bit by a Lemur! How many people can say that! Its a good thing he took the rabies shots that Kaiser offered. The guitar is one he had custom made. He is very happy about it I think playing the guitar is the only thing he was going to miss!
