Adam is enjoying the MTC a lot they study and have class all day long.He says whenever they do their practice teaching he can feel the Spirit so strong.  He is learning the language very quickly and its a crazy language as you can see in Kaelyn's post. The minimun wage is Madagascar is $15.00 a month!!!! I think this will be an eye opening experience for him. He is very excited to buy some things over there. He was saying that one of his teachers wears handmade ties from there and they are really nice. I can't wait to see what treasures he sends home....He still can't wait to get there...He asks everyday if he can go now! I can't wait til he gets there either...He better send home some really cool pictures.

SNOW!!!!!

Its a good thing the missionaries don't go out much...Adam doesn't like the snow!

Adam and his Madagascar group!

Elder Nash!!! His companion Elder Lunt, the two sisters are from fiji. Next is Elder Tahiti and then Elder Peters. I think I have everyone right!!!

Mpifanolobodorindrina

No, that is not just random typing.

Malagasy 101: Mpifanolobodorindrina means 'sharer of a reciprocal wall/neighbor'. Pronounced: (Pee fah noo loo boo doo een gee nah).

..... I really do not know what else to say, haha!

Adam is continuing to enjoy the MTC. He says that a lot of the Elders are going to Roseville...Crazy. He has classes and studies about 15 hours a day. He is practicing the first discussion in Malagasy and is doing pretty good. He is also playing a lot of basketball and enjoying it which is nice since before he left he claimed he wasn't going to play. They give each other really funny nick names.... Adam's is Elder goes-a-lot!!!! I wonder if that is because its the only time he is alone. Also, He says that he gets way more mail than anyone else about three to one. He got three packages in one day. The other Elders make fun of him for it but, he loves it. So, keep up the writing!!!!

More News!!

Its so nice that I am finally hearing from him... 7 days can seem like a lifetime when your son is gone. Adam says "Ï love what we are doing here...I'm learning so fast and it really makes me realize how much the Spirit guides us." He also relates a funny story...."I was walking back to our dorm with my companion Elder Lunt and some people asked me to take their picture, I just started talking in spanish and acted like I couldn't understand a word. You should have seen their faces!!" This is so Adam. He is having a lot of fun with his companion. Luckily  Elder Lunt likes to joke around too. The one thing Adam did complain about tho is a very uncomfortable matteress he says there is a huge dent in the middle from thousands of missionaries before him...Do you think I could send him a matteress!!!!! And for those of you who write from Dear Elder he says thats ok but he does prefer to get letters in actual envelopes

Finally a letter!!!

I say finally but, the letter was written two days after Adam got to the MTC. Here are some highlights from his letter. His companions name is Elder Lunt. There is an Elder from Tahiti whose name they can't pronounce so they call him Elder Tahiti. Adam speaks french with him and thinks thats cool. He is anxious to learn more of the languange and to get out to the mission field. His only alone time is at the urinal!!! About the food he says he neither loves it or hates it......(I guess thats good he won't starve) He sent a few words of Malagasy....Misaotra means thank you (Me-so-ch) Manahoana means Hello how are you? (Mah na ohn) Yes  Eny (ey-ni) No Tsia (tsee-ah). Thats about it hopefully there will be more soon.

New Missionary!!

Adam entered the MTC on Dec. 1st. My good buddy Garrett Cooper and his wife picked Adam up from the airport and dropped him off at the MTC. Adam had his cell phone so he let me know when he got to SLC. He also, let me know when Garrett picked him up I told Adam to say hi to them and the text I got back was "they say hi. I'll see you in two years"!!!! He obviously didn't want to chat. According to Garrett Adam did say he will miss me. I will be posting pictures as soon as I figure out how and letting you know what's going on at the MTC when I hear from Adam.
